Rental listings

Representing your rental tenant.

As a rental listing agent, the rental application states “processing may take up to 5 business days”.  The application should be provided to National Realty with an application fee ($50/applicant) and a separate check for first month’s rent.  The application fee is non-refundable. We hold the first month’s rent check and return it if the application is rejected.

One of our agents submitted an application to another company, but they had not accepted or rejected with the 5 business days.  The listing agent did not tell our agent until many days later that the application was rejected and he forgot to send a rejection email.  That agent finally agreed to pay the $100 in application fees personally.  So, be sure we receive the fee promptly and, after you get our credit screening report, be certain to let the other agent know if the landlord accepts or rejects the application.  The landlord should consider the application itself as well as the credit screening report to make a decision.  If there is a question, the landlord can also require up to 2  month’s security deposit or require a co-signer.  But we need to be sure the process is done quickly and communicate with the listing agent.
